It is surprised to
know that "Social networking technology is absolutely the best thing to
happen to recruiting — ever." according to "Social Networking
Technology Boosts Job Recruiting" written by Frank Langfitt. Recruiters
must be very happy that it's easy to find talent people nowadays. Besides using
LinkedIn, recruiters also use other channel which provides information about a
company's expanding, merger and acquisition deals, so they can predict the
hiring of that company.
Another area that social site technology is very
useful for me is the customer reviewers. Whenever I want to buy something,
anything, I always look at the reviews of the product online and compare it with
similar product. I feel it's easy to tell if a review is true or not, especially
when there are a lot of reviews. I understand that Kristina Grifantini says in
"Can You Trust Crowd Wisdom" that "if you have two or three
people voting 500 times" that the result won't be very accurate. However, I
feel that there's only a small portion of people doing that. And with
technology, it's easier to limit the number of times a user can vote.
Yeah, social networking sites can really make it easier for recruiters to find the right people and it can help people find a job that suits them. They are really great for companies.
ReplyDeleteReviews are really useful. I always read them if I am buying something online to make sure that the product is good.
